looks to be gone with the elimination of borrowed power (thank GOD. The Shadowlands PvP nightmare of having to catch up on Soulbinds/legendaries etc. What remains to be seen is exactly how accessible conquest gear is in Dragonflight. Skill and tactically based combat is the way to go, and short of removing gear from PvP altogether (not a bad idea), making high-end PvP gear as accessible as possible and removing all influence from PvE gear is the way to go. The WoW style of class, spec, tactics, and skill based PvP is compelling (read, fun) enough in itself without the cruel and superfluous carrot of being able to make other players miserable by outgearing them. To be frank, gear shouldn’t be a factor in PvP at all. It was not difficult at all to get honor gear (you just farmed fragments in Ashran) and getting conquest gear as a solo player was not just feasible, it was doable, again via Ashran. WoD was the pinnacle of WoW pvp, and gearing had the most to do with it. But I have now finally had the time to go through and read some things on Dragonflight- and I have thoughts. And yesterday was spent predominantly on dealing with the fallout. I spent most of Tuesday huddled in a tent on my dining room floor using my body heat to try to keep my birds from freezing after the power outage caused by the fricking April blizzard that just went through.
